i’ve always been drawn to royal stories. the massive impact of royalty in the political system from the great and tyrant kings and
queens are pretty interesting part of world history. my interest is not because of fairy tale books, I was more apt with animal and alphabet books rather than princes and princesses. thanks to my mom who inundated me with such kind of fable & colorful books when i was growing up. my interest with royal stories sparked when i was in high school from Henry VIII, the Battle in the Waterloo, Victorian era and so forth. the lifestyle does not impressed me, i find it mundane and lavish as a commoner like me but i was intrigued with what force that molded their tyrant character, i was curious with the cause of their fall and maybe wants to pry on what is behind that flawless and genteel manners.
so one day when i was about seven years old my mom was watching a wedding on tv. i noticed that the crowd was massive, the trail was preposterously long and church was a sheer grandiose. it was the wedding of the late Lady Diane who once was a princess when he married Prince Charles who was aka into horsey Camilla, well that’s how tmz would tease the lady
and i do agree btw.
this is the royal love story that unfolds before my very eyes. a grand royal wedding fit for a princess. i saw a lonely face in spite having a title that many women clamor, i saw a princess in tons of outreach programs and i saw how it ended. i commend her for ending that sad marriage but it was a jolting loss that her life ended in a freak accident at a tender age of 36, the time while she was on the process of moving on. she no longer was a princess when she died so the kingdom of wales never gave a damn, cold Queen? she is, being the survivor of war and tribulation of her kingdom.
everyone moved on… Prince Charles married the horsey Camilla, the Queen of course continues to be a Queen, the two princes are now the upbeat young royalties. the elder of the two- Prince William will be getting hitched to a very beautiful and smart Kate!…am glad that she got the two qualities because being smart with horsey looks ain’t fit to be a princess and i stand with my opinion
. Kate has a pleasant, sweet yet confident personality. i don’t think that she’s the type who would blasts when things doesn’t go accordingly nor she’s arrogant.
the two young soon to be couple are the pleasant faces of the present royalty. they never portrayed as untainted couple, the thing that i like about the two. they’ve partied, broken up, made up and live-in together. i believe that they are entering marriage for the right reason. I am looking forward to watch a royal wedding, again with my very eyes and this time without my mom anymore. something about the wedding that makes me nostalgic but i’m thinking hey, why not? it’s the celebration and proclamation of love. i believe in love, no matter how inevitable pain and trials that come with it although marriage should bring happiness as well because if it ain’t gonna happen well it’s not worth keeping .
so, i’m saving april 29, 2011 to watch the two beautiful royal couple who will be the future King and Queen of England. Best wishes and cheers!

Don’t blame it to St. Patrick for your booze, the pubs and brews are the Irish thing not at all significant with the Saint himself. St. Patrick is no Irish, he’s actually a Briton who was captured by Irish raiders who treated him as slave long before he was proclaimed as Saint. Cruelty was severe thus determined to escape from that malevolent plight… so he did. Patrick eventually acquired Christianity and had a calling to go back to Ireland to promulgate the belief which successfully he did. Ireland as being a Catholic country is largely contributed by Patrick himself. With the strong force of conversion, he is known to have driven out the “snakes’ out of Ireland which is figuratively referring to the pagans or such. In case you’re wondering why green is very much or shall I say the sole color of St. Patrick’s, it’s merely because of the Shamrock, the three-leaf clover that he used while preaching as the symbolism of the Holy Trinity. It got stuck with Irish and somehow became the simile of St. Patrick himself. I honestly have to say what a good color choice! since green is the top of my fave colors. As for the leprechauns, I don’t have a single idea why would tag this with the celebration, maybe because it is prevalent in Ireland? maybe or not.
so another excuse for a cold Guinness? ain’t need a St. Patrick’s Day for that since in Ireland, Guinness day is everyday! Pubs are like mushroom hubs categorically can be considered as Irish’s way of life, part of the definition of their culture. this could be a piece of heaven for many… that I know?
just for the heck of it , let’s wear green!… Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Every parent would always want the best for their child. Although the best does not necessarily mean the most expensive rather the best of your means and sometimes ability of the parents to have the art of personalization can be defined as the best you can give. Celebrating the important dates is the best way to create the memories that are eventually valuable when they are all grown up. Providing kids with a so called “happy childhood” is in the hands of doting and responsible parents. Good memories are contributing factor on how a person perceive life and most often than not it’s the force to recreate history that once experienced. Everybody are excited for the celebration of 1st birthday, who isn’t?… it’s not just a celebration of birth but a celebration of gratitude for a marvelous gift of life. Balloons, cake, food, favors, pictures, family and friends complete the gathering of the important day. The wonderful thing about kid’s celebration is that all attendees have the aura of happiness! like almost a must that everyone must wear that happy face that need not be imposed but just comes out. So the 1st birthday has been celebrated but does this have to be done every birthday?… there’s no specific answer but definitely depending on the parents themselves, they could or opt not to. For the reasons not to have a grand or big celebrations will be tons. Primary reason is monetary, could also be practicality, availability, unexpected circumstances and so on. Making the birthday to be memorable need not be grand all the time somehow celebrating it with merely family over a lunch or dinner is as good as the company of many.
Why would make the 7th year be special as the 1st? well, typically because it’s the usual age when a kid enter a first milestone in terms of being a student. First grade means surpassing the nursery and kinder garten years. First grade is the start of primary education and the year that the kid somewhat exhibits a bit of maturity and starting to have the sense of responsibility. This is the age where friendships are formed and the social being is in progress. Most importantly this is the year that the kid is more susceptible in keeping the experiences and circumstances keenly in mind therefore memories are now being absorbed.
No matter how the birthday is celebrated, simple or grand the most important thing is the subject, the celebrant herself. Never forget to keep the photos, it’s more that what it shows. It brings back the time of the event. The very existence of memories that sometimes or selectively forgotten.
So for the seventh birthday, it’s in the parent’s hand to make it lucky or not.

Sandra Bullock is the lady of the night! she bagged the most distinctive category in the award winning body as Best Actress. The movie Blind Side brought out the best in her which unfortunately I wasn’t able to watch yet but is now on top of my list. This year’s Oscar night was pretty smooth, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin really liven up the air and they were able to deliver good jokes. Their opening really gave me and hubby good laughs… boisterous laugh in my case, as a matter of fact hehehe. There is one dress that really transform my admiration into really wanting it and that was the ones that Rachel McAdams wore by Elie Saab’s haute couture. Soft flowing, elegant, nice color mix and simply regal dress in my eyes. Rachel justified it well.
2010 Oscar’s winners are well-deserving ones. To serve as my record, i’d like to sum it up… Best Supporting Actor- Christoph Waltz of Inglourious Basterds, Best Animated Film- Up, Best Original Song-Ryan Bingham from the movie The Crazy Heart, Best Original Screen Play-Mark Boal of the The Hurt Locker, Best Animated Short Film-Logorama by Nicolas Schmerkin, Best Documentary Short Subject-Music by Prudence, Best Live Action Short Film-The New Tenants, Best Make-up- Star Trek, Best Supporting Actress-Mo’nique who really caught my attention when I heard that she’s into open marriage that she doesn’t care if either would have sex outside marriage, I find it disturbing!… Best Adapted Screenplay-Geofrey Fletcher of Precious, Best Art Direction-Rick Carter of Avatar, Best Costume Design-Sandy Powell of the Young Victoria, Best Sound Editing-Paul Ottosson of The Hurt Locker, Best Sound Mixing- The Hurt Locker, Best Cinematography-Mauro Fiore of the Avatar, Best Original Score in a Movie-Michael Giacchino of Up, Best Documentary Feature-The Cove, Best Film Editing-Bob Murawski of The Hurt Locker, Best Foreign Language Film-El Secreto de sus Ojos of Argentina, Best Actor-Jeff Bridges of The Crazy Heart, Best Director-Kathryn Bigelow who happens to be the first woman director to win an award and lastly the Best Movie for Oscar 2010 is The Hurt Locker which I happen to check in the theater close to my place, unfortunately it’s not shown. I learned that the movie was not massively distributed therefore available only in selected theaters.
I guess the victorious ones are now handful of Moet and Dom on top of their ‘man in gold’.

It’s our second!
Second year of Whims and Likes which now we could officially say “since 2008″ as what most businesses would proudly shout with
their company slogan, making it seriously official since longevity is a proof that it categorically have invaded the market. It reminds me of the movie “Sunshine Cleaning” where the father of Rose ( Amy Adams) deceitfully declared that their cleaning business has been operating since 1963. So Rose told her dad, played by a very good actor Alan Arkin that it’s a lie! but her dad’s only respond was “it’s only a business lie not a life lie”. Pretty clever response? … not for me!. I am driven by principle and business is the very representation of the owner per se. So a business lie is not cool nor fly. I have personally encountered businesses who claim that they’ve been in the business since blah blah blah but the truth is it’s only been existing a couple of months. Some are owned by religious ones who can bluntly execute a business lie, ironic isn’t?
Whims and Likes officially started live in the market last January 28, 2008. Sincerely a product of rigid market research and literally hard work. We made sure that we will provide and supply once it’s live and operational. Our primary concern is the satisfaction of our buyers so during the process of creating the company, we critically brainstorm as an efficient and competent seller and at the same time thinking as what the satisfied buyer would be. We focus on the theme during the organization with idea of being “The Choice” out there.
The genuine source of pride about our company is that, it’s a product of our own skills and interest although as a business, profit is a goal just as ALL other businesses are but we made sure that we will utilize our skills and expertise. From the creation of the website, the operations, search engine optimization and marketing are all handle by us, no external mind were involved.
We will continue to introduce new products, improve and maintain a quality service that we have provided. In the span of two years and two months in the market, there was only one complain and that was a couple of broken pieces in one package sent to the east coast and unfortunately ones the package is handed over with the courier, the way a package is being handled is no longer our control. That one complaint made us aware to improve more the system of wrapping in each favors. To this date no other complains followed. Lovely!
To all who availed our favors, we appreciate your support and you sure are a wise buyer because you opted to have “The Choice for Favors”
